The Rocky Mountain Professional Rodeo Association was founded in the spring of 2008 by Broken Heart Rodeo Co and the Circle J Rodeo Co. This year we have over 300 members ranging from Utah, Idaho, Wyoming, Nevada, and Arizona. So far this year we have paid out over $10,000.00 in prize money per rodeo. By year’s end contestants will have competed for$ 200,000.00 dollars in prize money.
Thanks to our members for their support, if it wasn't for them our association wouldn’t be what it is today. Having the finest stock contractors in the business along with ZD Cattle Company has made the Rocky Mountain Professional Rodeo Association a huge success. Circle J Rodeo Co and Broken Heart Rodeo Co would like to thank the cowboys and cowgirls for supporting our association.
The 2009 rodeo season is going to be bigger and better starting in November with more rodeos to compete in than in 2008.
Thanks again to our members and our committees for making us a great association. |

James Michael Mascaro
(April 29, 1935 - April 28, 2008)
“Grandpa Jim”
Our hearts are saddened at the loss of our husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, James “Jimmy” Michael Mascaro passed away on April 28, 2008 due to heart failure. Jim was born April 29, 1935 in Rose Canyon to Joseph P. Mascaro and Mary Marasco DeLuca Mascaro. He was the youngest of 11 children. On September 30, 1955 Jim married the love of his life Freada Hutchings and they have 3 children, Casey Mike Mascaro (Shirlene Kirk), Stacy James Mascaro (Lori Chalupa), Tammy Marie Mascaro McKee (Mike McKee). He has 9 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren.
Jim was all cowboy through and through, he was raised on a large ranch in Rose Canyon and learned to ride early. His father was a Rodeo Stock Contractor and did weekly rodeos at the Herriman ranch. Jim was a member of RMRA and won the Bull Riding Championships in 1955, 1963 and 1964. In 1965 Jim and his brother John bought the Circle J Rodeo Company from his father and started producing rodeos all over the state of Utah. Jim has been actively involved in the Utah High School Rodeo Assoc. since 1963 and has been a great supporter of it. He has groomed and helped many contestants along the way. His love for Rodeo has been a way of life and he instilled this in his children and grandchildren. Jim was employed by Salt Lake County (Welby Pit) and retired in 1997.
Jim was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend and loved by all who knew him. Family was very important to him, every Sunday was a tradition at the Mascaro home with spaghetti dinner, all were welcome around the table, people who entered felt the outpouring of love and left as friends. Jim was not only proud of his family, but of his rodeo livestock and took great care of his animals. His honesty, wisdom and unwavering integrity will be missed by all.
